St. Peters Annual Fishing
Derby
|
Just Add Kids, the
Fish are Waiting. |
| One of the greatest experiences your kids can
have is going fishing. It's even better when you catch fish! Kids will get the best chance to do just that at the St. Peters Annual Fishing Derby! Head on out to
Woodland Sports Park in St. Peters, located just off Ohmes Rd. on Woodlands Parkway. |
| The lake there will be FULLY STOCKED with one to three pound channel catfish and small blue gill, ensuring more than enough bites to go around. The rangers will provide free worms, but past experience has shown hot dogs are the most successful bait to use, so bring a few from home, along with your fishing tackle.

Children ages 15 years and under are invited to participate. |
 |
| Registration is required IN ADVANCE and can be done at the
RecPlex building at the St. Peters City Hall complex on Mexico Rd. for a $5 entry fee. Prizes will be awarded for First Fish, Largest Catch (a combination of all fish caught that morning by one child) and Largest Fish. Kids will be
divided into two age groups.....9 & under and 10 to 15. Most areas are handicapped accessible, including a fenced & wheelchair safe dock to make fishing easier for those residents requiring one. There are also limited benches on the dock. More information can be had by contacting the St. Peters Ranger Enforcement Division at 636-278-2244 or 636-477-6600, ext. 416. With a fully stocked lake, young anglers are sure to "catch" a good time!
